Owner & Founder - Today's Woman Traveller

My passion for travel began over 38 years ago apprenticing in a travel agency. While organizing custom travel arrangements for missionaries all over the world, I gained valuable international knowledge, experience and expertise that would later allow me to run my own travel agency and build my own custom tours and individual travel programs.

Before turning to my love of travel in 2002, I had worked in several management positions. Because of this previous experience, I'm comfortable handling all facets and details of the travel business from corporate travel to designing custom travel for individuals and groups.

My passion for travel was sparked when I landed a job teaching English in Paris after studying French Language and Literature at Western University in London, Ontario. A whole year to discover in my free time the tiny hidden cultural and gastronomical gems of Paris, the surrounding countryside and nearby European countries! What a thrill to

I have a long and serious passion for travel. In my childhood, my 3 siblings, Mom, Dad and I all piled into the car for our annual summer jaunts to various North American destinations. Fond memories exist still to this day and certainly provided the impetus to expand my travel horizons. An exhilarating high school trip to Spain really got the ball rolling, and I graduated from a 3-year tourism program at Centennial College.

From exploring the old villages of Cinque Terre and watching the snake charmers in Marrakech to scuba diving in Cozumel and driving a dune buggy through the wilds of Jamaica, soft adventure is my style. Travel to me means exploring new and different places, meeting local people and learning about their culture. Gone are the days of backpacking through Europe and sleeping in train stations. These days, my trips include delicious food, luxury (or semi-luxury) accommodations and convenient, comfortable transportation.

Aline Barlow150pxI have been in the travel and tourism business all my life but it is my husband, Jeff Barlow, who introduced me to the escorted-travel side of this industry.

I have accompanied painters in Thailand, photographers in Germany, and taken several journeys in England and France.

Joanne TinlinMy intrigue to travel began at 19 years old when I was fortunate to meet two girls my age from Scotland visiting one of my neighbours. Since I was their age, I was asked to show them around on a tour of Eastern Ontario. One year later, I toured Scotland for a month with these girls and I was bitten by the "Travel Bug".

I came to Canada from my native Prague in 1969. My family settled in Kingston where I was employed by Queen's University as a research assistant at the Geochemistry Department. As well as my work at Queen's, I took an opportunity when in 1989 the Czech Republic opened its border to visitors to escort various small groups there.

judi bodnar250pxI’m a passionate traveller and have travelled extensively throughout my life.

I was born in Budapest, Hungary and immigrated to Canada in the late 1960’s.

Both in groups and on my own, I have visited many countries in Europe, the Caribbean and Asia - including Budapest and other parts of Hungary every year for some 20 years, Austria, Poland, France, Spain, Morocco, Mexico, Trinidad, Tobago, Barbados, St Lucia, the Bahamas, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Bali, Taiwan and of course lots of places in the U.S. and throughout Canada.

I have a passion for gardening, travelling, art and photography and am excited to be leading garden tours for The Travel Broker and Today's Woman Traveller.

I discovered I had a talent for gardening when I moved to Kingston in 2006 and transformed my treeless and empty backyard into a garden with several beds, five trees and back fence patio...without having any formal gardening education. Then...

Cecelia2A day is a very happy day when I can spend it exploring new corners of wherever I am, my hometown or a place I am visiting. It is even better if there are people to share it with!

Travelling through new landscapes, scampering over rocks and creeks, learning and exploring new cultures energizes me to my core! The result is that I have travelled most of North America, some of Central and South America, the Caribbean, the UK and Western Europe.

Jean lawson300pxI love spending time outdoors camping, hiking and exploring new landscapes and architectures.  I have been lucky enough to have travelled extensively throughout Canada and the United States from the Arctic to California, and hiked the Highlands recently in Scotland.
